Reductive Leaching of Low-Grade Manganese Ores from Way Kanan Using Corncob As Reductant

The processing of mining products in indonesia has not been utilized optimally. One them is manganese ore. Way kanan one indonesia's potential ore sites. leaching study used a -200 mesh way that was reacted with sulfuric acid at concentrations 0.1 M, 0.5 and 1 as well corncob reductant. To separate the dissolved iron process, sulfate solution purified sodium hydroxide then filtered to have free iron. Manganese precipitated using oxalic acid. oxalate precipitation calcined temperature 350 °c for two hours. best extraction obtained 92.3% concentration 80 °c, volume 400 ml. Calcination converted material into hausmannite (Mn3O4).
